Welcome to LDR
The LIGO Data Replicator (LDR) is a tool for making copies of
or replicating data
sets to the member sites of a Virtual Organization or DataGrid. It
is built on top of well-known toolkits and packages including
the
Globus Toolkit,
Python,
MySQL, and
Apache httpd.

- 6/29/2009: Version 0.9.1 is released. See the
administrator's manual for deployment instructions.
- 3/2/2007: Some notes from the
January 18, 2007 meeting at Caltech have been posted,
as well other bites of new documentation.
- 9/12/2006: Version 0.8.0 is released. This release includes upgrades to using
MySQL 5 and other software packages used by and included with LDR, as well as a few bug fixes
and additional features. See the Documentation pages for a

- 10/11/2005: Version 0.7.0 is released. This release
includes an upgrade to using the Globus Toolkit 4.0.1 along
with (yet another) major revision of the metadata services.

- 9/13/2004: Details about the upcoming LDR
meeting at Birmingham University in the UK are available
here.
- 8/28/2003: Version 0.5.4 includes many bug fixes. It is
intended as a maintenance release.
- 7/30/2003: The LIGO Scientific Collaboration (LSC) held a LDR
planning meeting in June and plans are well underway for the next major
version of LDR. It will include upgrades to version 2.4 of the Globus Toolkit,
the latest Globus RLS with support for bulk queries, a much improved installation
and configuration scheme using Pacman
(the package manager used by the
GriPhyN
and iVDGL projects for the
Virtual Data Toolkit), a much improved
database schema for metadata based on the Globus Metadata Catalog Service,
and much more. We expect to release a preliminary version in September.
- 4/3/2003: Version 0.5.3
includes many bug fixes and enhancements. LIGO/LSC early adopters
should download, install, setup, configure, and run this version.
Others are welcome to try it too!
- 3/4/2003: Version 0.5.2 fixes
a build bug for MyODBC. Only LIGO/LSC early adopters should download and
install/setup this version.
- 2/28/2003: Version 0.5.1
fixes some install/setup bugs. Only LIGO/LSC early adopters should
download and install/setup this version.
- 2/27/2003: Version 0.5.0 is available for download. Only
LIGO/LSC early adopters should download and build/install this
version.
- 2/26/2003: We are busily working to get the first public
version of LDR released, as well as a first rough cut of this website!
