Cloning a submit master node

This document assumes that the submit machine (like marlin) needs to be brought back to life, no software or raid settings have been made.

Cloning the NFS node

As root on Nemo in the directory /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg run the script
nfs_pxe_symlink.sh [low node] [high node] default.FC4x86_64-nfs
An example would be if I want to clone m0002, at a prompt on nemo the commands will be
login to nemo as root
cd /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg
./master-node_pxe_symlink.sh 2 2 default.FC4x86_64-m0002
master-node_pxe_symlink.sh leaves a hex version of the machines IP address in this directory. If more than one machine was givven in the command their would be a hexed address for each machine to be cloned. Once this has been run you may boot tha machine

Raid configuration.

This can only be done on the console.

On boot the Areca card goes through a self test, it takes about 2-3 minutes. After this it will wait 5 seconds for you to enter the cards bios setup. Press tab or f6 to do this.
Varify the volume set up.
INSERT MIRRORED CONFIGURATION INFO HERE This volume will show up to the os as sda

OS install.

The kickstart process automates most things, except: Set root passwd appropriately You need to recover the host-cert from hades. Run /net/m0001/root/root_tools/install_ldg.sh Change susers shadow passwds from !! to * rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora yum -y update e2fsprogs openldap libxml2 pam yum groupinstall lscsoft
