Minutes
Attendance: John Whelan Ed Maros Patrick Brady Jolien Creighton Duncan Brown Shourov Chatterji Stuart Anderson Keith Thorne Peter Shawhan Kipp Cannon Adam Mercer Calibration Frame Stuff: Jolien has redefined the LALFrDetectors structure. Patrick asked how to get things moving on the downstream end. Jolien said he would like an XLAL program to read in the text files from the Calibration team. (Patrick might be able to help with that.) Jolien had circulated sample frames. Stuart found that the leap seconds was not correctly populated. Jolien expects to have code available next week. Patrick summarised the information in the calibration team minutes from 17 Feb. http://www.ligo-la.caltech.edu/~irish/Work/Calibration/MINUTES/ Patrick also mentioned the punchlist that is being developed by the calibration team. One of the checks will include a point calibration for comparison with any code that uses the reference functions and factors to calibrate data. DMT: Rpms have been produce for offline dmt and for FrameCPP (preliminary). Many thanks to Junwei and Ed. Testing in progress. Patrick asked what this meant at the meeting, no information was available. Updates have been made to BicoMon (fix crash from using uninitialized sample rate) and LockLoss (eliminate unneeded low-pass). ASC overflows segments now produced online. Duncan and Kipp have been working on a genericMon which can display event information in the control room. Kipp has xml code to translate from inspiral and bursts to generic monitor. Glue: He has an automated dump of the data quality information and posting to the web site. This is now moving forward. Kipp has added and updated ligo-lightweigth library code. LDG and PyGlobus: there is a bug report in against 64bit Opteron with the VDT people. They say they will try to support it soon, but Kevin thinks it will take them a number of weeks to get things going. Stuart will persist with ssh kludge for another week or two. Calibration: One file with factors time series and reference functions in stat data structures. Long discussion of what to do. The conclusion is to have Jolien produce a couple of frames with the format that he is proposing and have some people test them. We will try to have this issue concluded next wednesday with an implemtation. DMT: No report. Stuart asked about the rpms. Junwei will have an rpm of dol soon. Patrick has root available in lscsoft and will do a test against this once the next rpm is available. Ed will try to build an rpm of libframecpp. Glue: Has a cron job to extract segment database and put on a web site. Discussion of problems of LDG on Opteron boxes. Kevin Flasch is trying to find a solution. Junwei has a prototype LDG 4.0, but nobody has tested the server release. Patrick will try to install the client on the Opterons at Caltech and e-mail people with the results. LAL: Move to have LAL build against latest fftw on fc4. Will test against a source build of fftw. LDAS: Building of framcpp rpms, 64 bit port and other PRs LDR: Fixed bug in dataFind server has been fixed by Kevin Flasch. This is small, so people will copy the file. There have been no issues at UWM; he thinks that people can move it onto their systems. There was an issue where results were not being ordered. Now they are. LIGOTools: The new version of segwizard was released. The new version of metaio library on 64bit machines. readMeta are not working on these machines. Peter has it now compiling on 64 bit properlies. Peter and Stuart discussed the issue of rsyncing libraries and software and whether there is a need for a separate 64bit installation. frgetvect modifications have been made by Shourov and he will put into LIGOTools and will forward it to Benoit. Jolien mentioned that Benoit will release an update very soon and it would be really nice to get this into the release. MatApps: They are continuing to track 64 builds: the stochastic group has managed to do this, but Keith has not gotten to get things to work at CIT. Shourov has asked about differences in 32 bit code versus 64 bit on 64 bit machines. Kipp mentioned that he has seen really big increases. Onasys: Kipp has added automatic job removal to the daemon. He will test and then release it when he is sure it is working. AOB: The upgrade at LHO has started due to unforseen circumstances. Meeting adjourned at 13:30
