DMT (Zweizig)
Waiting for Junwei to finish packaging the new release, and Junwei is
waiting for LSCSOFT setup scripts for frameCPP which Ed agreed to provide.
Otherwise the new version of DMT appears to be working well. A final check
for any changes needed to support the new calibration frame spec is needed.
Glue (Brown)
Kipp recently added support for gzip and Igor is working on fixing
a hardware problem for the segment database test/development machine.
LAL/LALapps - No Report
LDAS (Maros)
TclGlobus has a serious bug with 64-bit support on Solaris that is
being worked on. Given the success with the LDAS 64-bit port to Solaris/SPARC
the next two platforms to be worked on are 64-bit Solaris/Opteron and
64-bit FC4/Opteron.
LDR (Flash)
The next version of LDR is due out in about 1 week, but will not
include the planned metadata split, that will occur in a later release and
this release will focus just on bug fixes.
Ligotools - No Report
Matapps (Thorne)
Successfully created the next Burst MDC data set at LDAS-CIT (HSG1_S5).
Starting to look into testing the Matlab beta release of R2006b which appears
to be mainly a bug fix release.
Onasys - No Report
LDG (W. Anderson)
The grid-cert-request script has been fixed to handle associating new
LIGO/LSC user certificates with OSG rather than the defunct ivdgl VO. This is
available in LDG-4.1. There is remaining work to do for server/host certs and
the on-line documentation. There has not yet been an VDT-1.3.11 patch for the
recent set of Globus Toolkit security bugs, nor has the VDT bug for
unnecessarily including an older version of Python when installing on
FC4 x86_64 been fixed yet.
Other Issues
The S5 V2 h(t) frames are going through one last validation test at
CIT to make sure the provenance of these files is properly understood after
the major reshuffling/renaming of files.
The proposed change to the frame specification appears to be converging.
The current list of changes is:
1) sampleRate promoted from REAL_4 to REAL_8 in FrSerData and FrSimData.
2) parameters promoted from REAL_4 to REAL_8 in FrEvent and FrSimEvent.
3) Changing the definition of STRING to match the actual LIGO framebuilder use,
i.e., the embedded string length is now to be understood as the maximum
length of the string, not necessarily the actual length, and the first
null character ('\0') is the definitive definition of the end of string.
It was decided to leave the CHAR[] definition unchanged in FrVect and not
to add bzip2 compression.
