Announcements:

* Next generation VCS.  Keep CVS for as long as it can be maintained;
make available the nextgen system. Warren thinks this is manditory.

* Scott asked when do we transition into a new state than S5.
November 3 or 4 depending on the work that is being done at the
sites.

* Astrowatch will start right after that.

DMT: Fillipo has a test release of LDM which enables DMT offline
monitors. He will make a brief presentation during det char telecon.
WIll announce over DASWG when pre-release is ready.

John reported that we did finally get the new version of DMT off line
installed. Should not be a problem to build rpms next time. Has been
installed at CIT and on cluster.

Glue: No software stuff. Shourov sent an e-mail to saying that the
segment database is not up to date for Virgo. Leone Bosi is working
on this for Virgo and maintains a web based interface.

Igor is currently debugging the tools for Keith to insert segments.
Will use these to insert segments that Keith anounced last week.

LAL/LALApps:  no news.  Kipp

LDAS:  porting to CentOS 5.0

LDG: no report. There is a pre-release that he announced earlier.
Ben will test on fc5 and fc6. Ed reported that the next VDT release
will include TclGlobus; Warren reported that the issues that Greg
encountered with latest VDT were all ironed out. Looks like we are
close to release.

LDR: there was an issue at CIT yesterday. LDR became wedged; does not
understand why it was wedged.  Cardiff has new machine for LDR;
Gerald is installing a new LDR onto that machine. Waiting on very
latest debian. Scott will do that this afternoon. Syracuse is ready
to take the plunge. Duncan confirmed.

LIGOtools:   no report.

MatApps: no report. Keith Thorne has a conflict with the review of
block normal.

Metaio: Duncan reported that John had checked in patches. Duncan
will roll of 7.x _. 7.x+1 and Adam will publish.

Onasys: no report. Kipp will put together a presentataion for us at
the start of November.

OSG-LIGO: Britta is gathering information on the E@H project. Trying
to understand using Boinc to run the tool. Still troubleshooting 3
sites that are not working for us on OSG. Stuart asked what are
these things that are broken: Duncan explained that it is the dax
writing method which has issues.

Charles asked how large is the largest amount of data; about 200 Gb.
He was worried that things will get overloaded if they don't know the
max.

AOB:

*  LARS and metadata services.

* Adam repoorted that he has 32 bit, 64 bit CentOS 5.0 .... he has
published a number of rpms into it. Will have patrick and Ducan do
tests

* What about GSL? Patrick needs to help Adam debug it.

* Stuart raised that CentOS 5 has gsl 1.4 not 1.10.

* Charles reported that this will be his last week working with LIGO.
