LDG Client/Server

The LDG Client/Server packages are software packages which allow users to utilize the LIGO Data Grid (LDG). Loosely speaking, the client package is for users who want to access resources on the LDG and the server package is for system administrators who want to provide resources to the LDG. If you don't know which one you want, you want the LDG client package.

Project Librarian

Gregory Mendell (gmendell at ligo-wa.caltech.edu) is the project maintainer.

Download

LDG client users should look at the links under the User Manual at the LIGO Data Grid webpages. There are step-by-step instructions on all the steps needed to access the LDG there, including instruction on how to download and install the LDG client software. LDG server administrators should look at the links under the Admin Manual heading at the LIGO Data Grid webpages. There is no publicly accessible CVS or other version control repository at this time.

Bug Reporting, Testing, and Quality Assurance

The LSC-Data-Grid trouble ticket system, which is located here, can be used to submit bug reports and enhancement requests for the LDG Client and Server packages. Please use the LDG Client and LDG Server categories for the tickets as appropriate.

Mailing Lists

There is no dedicated mailinglist for LDG Clent/Server at this time. Questions and comments should be posted to the DASWG mailing list. Instructions for joining and accessing the DASWG mailing list are available here.
