GWDAW-8 Abstract: Optimally combining the strain data from the two LIGO Hanford interferometers for measuring the stochastic background

The LIGO S1 science run exposed instrumental and environmental correlations between the two Hanford interferometers. Such effects, while foreseen, have not been dealt with extensively in the literature and planning for data analysis. I will discuss briefly an optimal method for combining the multiple transcontinental baseline measurements by LIGO looking for evidence of a stochastic background in the presence of local non-astrophysical intrumental correlations at Hanford.
