Review of progress with wrapperAPI
The error handling needs to do non-blocking sends and receives within the
wrapperAPI and the dso's. This type of communication seems to cause tags
to get eaten by collective calls, e.g broadcast and Allreduce. The
behavior is the same under LAM and MPICH. Changed wrapper to circumvent
this problem.
Compile errors that were seen under LAM have now been fixed.
Version 6.3.2 of LAM does not have the C++ patches that Masha got for MPICH. She has to patch by hand. Masha should inform the LAM developers.
Status of the mpiAPI
Phil reported that he has been testing the functionality under LAM. He
can still run under MPICH. There are a few problems with making this
stuff part of LDAS fully right now; in particular they do not have LAM
installed on the system. This is being remedied.
Individual system calls, wipe, clean, .... and logging have all be implemented. Logging is ongoing. Socket communication with wrapperAPI is not working. Unsure what the problem is, but has not sat down with Masha to work it out. Will do that.
Status of inspiral dso
There was no progress reported here. The problem with dataDistributor
has not been fixed.
Status of excess power dso
Warren has been working with Martha, Rosen and Mario Diaz at Brownsville
to write the data conditioning function for the dso. Patrick has started
to code the dso itself; progress is slow due to documentation of the LAL
excess power functions.
Any other business
The next meeting will be November 30th because of the Thanksgiving break.
