Pipeline from datacondAPI to wrapperAPI
It was reported that the pipeline from the frameAPI to the datacondAPI
exists and has been exercised during the E3 run. Phil Ehrens will
confirm that it is correctly transfering data from the frames by
exercising it with the channel containing numbers from 1 thru 16k.
(Target date: 23 March 2001). There is a PR associated with excretion of
data in a format suitable for ingestion by the wrapperAPI. It showed up
while exercising the pipe to the metadataAPI, so it is uncertain that it
will fix the pipe to the wrapperAPI. Ed Maros will deal with the PR and
try to pipe to the wrapperAPI again (Target date: 23 March 2001). Ed is
still working on the conversion into Time and Frequency Series that can be
ingested by the wrapperAPI. By next week, this should be available and
tested. (Target date: next week).
There was some discussion of the BLOB functionality in the LALwrapper. But Masha commented that database output is not constructed by any shared object at this time, so the pipeline test can continue without the BLOB functionality. Patrick pointed out that we will move to releasing LALwrapper coincident with LDAS from now on to insure that consistency problems do not arise.
Patrick outlined the goal of the upcoming MDC and mentioned that we need a coordination team to make sure that stuff is proceeding as planned. Some concern was once again expressed that Peter Shawhan is still overworked with the database and something needs to be done about that. Patrick pointed out that he is aware of this and hopes to get help from the inspiral group.
Search code how to document
Patrick explained that the search code how to document has been made
available to alpha testers, and if anybody else got the chance to look it
over and make concrete comments that would be much appreciated. He also
mentioned that it may evolve into a slightly more complete document
inlcuding instructions for getting started with LDAS and other things.
Kent said he was happy with this, but that he would like it to refer to
the LDAS location for detailed instructions. Great.
Load balancing
It was agreed that we would get a basic shared object together to do load
balancing based on the current wrapperAPI design. A face-to-face design
review would be essential if anything is to change, so it was decided to
postpone that until after the MDC. Patrick indicated that this is not
critical for the MDC but must increase in priority afterwards because
multiple codes will be under construction.
Any other business
Kent asked who would be unavailable between now and the MDC. Everybody
indicated that are available without exception unless an emergency arises.
Masha gave a status report on the event monitor API. There has been progress since her last report. She can now receive the data elements and is working on the parsing into different data buckets. There has been no additional progress on the Tcl code.
Kent mentioned that we need a better phone solution for the group. Patrick will contact Albert about the billing issue and see what can be done with WiscLine, or some other company.
