Minutes of the LSUG Teleconference
Thursday, 30 August 2001  (10:00PST)
Attendance: Kent, Masha, Joe, John, Duncan, Patrick, Julien,

Status LDAS and availability of systems:
----------------------------------------

Kent sent e-mail to everybody. Need to only send one job at a time. They are
doing everything they can to get it out the door but have to deal with people
being out on vacation. Current version is at MIT, LHO and LLO. Would prefer
people avoid MIT system since they need to test that system in preparation for
next weeks MDC. Patrick contact Masha about pushing lalwrapper, lal onto
MIT, LHO and LLO. Masha will checkout ldasmdc and explain what needs to be
made after checkout.

Iterated target for release is Friday night. LAL/LALWrapper release target on
Monday night. Jolien will close LAL archive until the end of the MDC. The
following people will need access during the MDC: Joe John Warren Siong
Martin Sukanta Patrick Julien Ed daw Sam

Mock data for MDC's should be stored somewhere for the long term. Getting
data onto HPSS for a long term: Ask stuart about getting the archive set up
For now, Kent will set up a directory under anonymous and e-mail the groups.
If people have problems, e-mail around to ask what's up Everybody should
inform Stuart about how much data will be needed.....bottom line: ask Stuart
if you want data.

tfclusters DSO:
--------------

Julien reported that tfclusters shared object seems to be working. At 1
million points gets a bus error in stringify status. The only thing he does
is cast and copy data into a vector. He is seeing this on a sun. ***Need to
track down if at all possible.***

Stochastic and Stochastic-Bar DSOs:
-----------------------------------

Stochastic shared object is there. No changes for a while. They're going to
beat on it for the next few days.

Stochastic-bar: They still have some seg-fault. The way the re-sampling was
implemented uses a lot of memory. Both Martin and Siong are on dataAPI
mail list, etc. They should be dealing with that. They have a particular
value that they want 250Hz. They have to be a little tricky in how they do
the re-sampling.

Decisions:
---------

LAL and LALWrapper will close at 0:00 PDT 1 Sep 2001. LALWrapper will stay
open through release phase.

Reschedule MPI group meetings to 10:30am Pacific Time.
