Attendance:
No telecon. A request for information was circulated. The summary
is below.
Announcements:
* The ldas-sw rsync mirror of /ldcg has been disabled until the next
release of LDAS as there have been enough un-tested (with the last
release of LDAS) changes that Stuart does not want to risk
breaking LDAS release systems. These changes are mostly clean-up,
but also include a rebuild of gcc with some custom patches by Ed
Maros to fix some thread safety problems with the GNU C++ STL
string class in gcc-2.95.3.
The mirror of /ldcg from ldas-dev is still active for those running
pre-release versions.
* The LAL CVS archive will remain in the "bug-fixing" state (the cvs
archive is still open, but developers should only be making bug
fixes, not adding new functionality) for the next few days. Jolien
will give at least one day's worth of notice before closing the
archive to prepare the release.
Status of various DSO's:
* Status of Slope DSO:
Ed does not intend to have anything done for the code freeze. The
DSO currently runs the test script in the documentation under
LDASJob. Some intensive testing of this DSO should be done next
week by him with help from Igor (LLO).
* Status of Stochastic DSO:
The stochastic DSO has been modified to accept heterodyned data as
well as a wider variety of detector geometry specifications, and to
allow a wider variety of outputs to be produced. These features
have been tested in standalone mode, and the shared object verified
to run and to produce the expected cross-correlation spectrum. The
values of the new outputs have not been checked, nor has the
revised DSO been tested in pipeline mode, in particular the
insertion of these scalar quantities into the database.
* Status of inspiral DSO:
Development cycle complete for this release. Possibly some bugs
which will be ironed out during testing. Will start development of
new feautures (search summary, channel name etc.) after next
release.
* Status of exttrig DSO:
Rauha has verified the current functionality of the DSO online at
MIT with E7 data He has NOT tried compiling exttrig with the latest
version of LAL/Wrapper. In the next 8-10 days plans to implement
new functionality and test @ MIT This next week will also start
using the updated LDAS & LAL/Wrapper versions
* Status of power DSO:
Some code best suited to be in LAL has been moved. The code
continues to work fine with Gaussian simulated data, but there are
problems with the real E7 data. Patrick will be investigating this
and trying to fix it.
