Under typical traffic conditions, the most efficient route to UWM from the northwest is to cut across the north end of the city and pick up I-43:

  1. Take HWY 41/45 southeast toward Milwaukee.
    Exit at Ramp 47B (Good Hope Road / County PP).
    Turn left onto Good Hope Road and go east. (~6 mi / 10 km)

  2. Take I-43 South toward Milwaukee. (~5 mi / 8 km)
    Good Hope Road eastbound onto I-43 southbound

  3. Exit I-43 at Ramp 74 (Locust Street). Turn left onto Locust Street and go east. (~2 mi / 3 km)

  4. After crossing the Milwaukee River, you will approach the intersection of Locust & Oakland.
