Getting to the Super 8 Motel

The Super 8 Motel is located at the south end of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area, just off I-94 / HWY 41 near Mitchell International Airport (MKE). Travelers who arrive in Milwaukee via ground transportation are encouraged to choose a hotel closer to UWM. The Super 8 Motel is best located for travelers who arrive via the airport and intend to rent a car.

Driving to the Super 8 Motel from Mitchell International Airport (MKE)

1. Departing the airport terminal, turn right (north) onto Howell Avenue.
2. Take Howell Avenue north about 1 block to the hotel.
   
   
   

Getting to UWM from the Super 8 Motel

Note: On-campus parking is often scarce when classes are in session.

Some curb parking in the neighborhood surrounding UWM is available, with restrictions. Therefore, guests of the Super 8 Motel are encouraged to *****.

There are metered public parking lots at several locations on the UWM campus. Refer to the PDF map of the UWM campus for parking lot and building locations.

Driving Directions: From the Super 8 Motel to UWM

1. Take Howell Avenue about 1/2 block south to Grange Avenue. Turn right (west) onto Grange Avenue.
2. Take Grange Avenue west to the Airport Spur entrance ramp. Take the ramp and go west on the Airport Spur.
3. Take the Airport Spur west to I-94/Hwy-41. Go right (north) onto I-94/Hwy-41
   
4. Travel northbound on I-94/Hwy-41 for to the freeway interchange at the southeastern corner of Milwaukee. Merge to the right lane and take I-43/I-94/Hwy-41 toward downtown Milwaukee.
   
   
   
5. Travel northbound on I-94/I-43/Hwy-41 approximately 6 miles (10 km) into downtown Milwaukee. Merge to the center lanes and take I-43 North toward Green Bay.
   
   
   
6. Exit I-43 at Ramp 74 (Locust Street). Turn right onto Locust Street and go east. (~2 mi / 3 km)
   
   
   
7. After crossing the Milwaukee River, you will approach the intersection of Locust & Oakland.
8. To reach the Physics Building, turn left (north) onto Oakland Avenue.
9. Take Oakland Avenue north 2 blocks to Kenwood Boulevard. Turn right (east) onto Kenwood Boulevard. Go 1 block east to the Physics Building.
   
   
   

Driving Directions: From UWM to the Super 8 Motel

From Kenwood & Oakland, on the UWM campus:

1. Take Oakland Avenue south 2 blocks to Locust Street. Turn right (west) onto Locust Street.
   
   
   
2. Take Locust Street west approximately 1.8 miles (2.9 km) to I-43. Turn left (south) and merge onto I-43.
   
   
   
3. Take I-43 south approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) into downtown Milwaukee. At the interchange, take the center lanes onto I-94 / I-43 / Hwy-41 southbound toward Chicago.
   
   
   
4. Take I-94 / I-43 / Hwy-41 south approximately 6 mi (10 km) to the southeastern corner of Milwaukee (the "Mitchell interchange"). At the interchange, take the left lanes onto I-94 / Hwy-41 southbound toward Chicago.
   
   
   
5. Take I-94 / Hwy-41 south approximately 0.6 mi (1 km) to Exit 318 (the Airport Spur). Merge immediately to the right lane.
   
6. Take Exit 318 onto the Airport Spur and go east toward the airport. Merge to the right lane.
   
7. Exit the spur at Howell Avenue. Turn left (north) onto Howell Avenue, and go north to the hotel.
