Getting Started on the LSC DataGrid
There are four (4) steps necessary for "getting on" the LSC DataGrid as a user:
- Install the LSC DataGrid Client package:
Users are encouraged to connect to the LSC systems
using Grid tools. These tools are included in the
LSC DataGrid Client
package. You should install the package on your local workstation or laptop and continue to the next step.
- Get a certificate:
To use the tools in the LSC DataGrid Client package to connect to
LSC resources you will need a DOEGrids
Personal Certificate for authentication. If you need to obtain a DOEGrids Personal
Certificate please see the instructions
Getting a Digital Certificate
It will take 24 to 48 hours to process your request. After you have your certificate please continue to the next step. This applies even if you already have an account on the LIGO Data Grid - you will need to let the system administrators know about your new certificate if you want to access your account with it. Make sure to look for the "Current Certificate" dialog and checkbox if you are just updating an existing account.
