leave out Chapters 13,15,21.  It is a good book; read it.

I will try to keep this page up-to-date with the new homework assignments.
 

Homework:

(1) It counts toward your grade!
(2) Generally the Assignment will be given out on Weds or Friday and
      DUE THE NEXT WEEK ON  THURSDAY.
(2) Turn Homework in at Thursday Discussion Session!
(3) No Late Homework. o
(4) If you don't do the homework, your cooked.
(5)  You may discuss homework solutions with other students, but the work you turn in
       should be your own, i.e. don't just copy someone else's solution: personalize it.
 

Quizzes:

There will be weekly quizes given in the discussion sections. The problems will
come (almost) directly from the homework assignments.

Course Requirements and Grading:

Your grade will be figured from your performance on the the homework,  weekly
quizes,  midterm exams, and the final exam.
 
 Homework:  20%
 Quizzes  15%
 Midterm 1 (Weds. 29 Sept.  in class )   20%
 Midterm 2 ()   20%
 Final Exam  (12:30-2:30, Thrs 16 Dec.) 
Comprehensive		   25%
 Total  100%
 

Attendence:

Attendence is mandatory. Attendence will be taken (both in the lectures and the discussion
section) . One half percentage point will be deducted from your total score for each class
missed in excess of 6.classes exceeds 6. ``Class" is defined as either lecture or discussion.

You can get lots of help with the material in the discussion sessions.  The teaching assistants are:

Withdrawing from the course:

According to the UWM course timetable, you may drop w/o anything appearing on your
transcript  until 1 Oct.. You may withdraw with a `w' on your transcript until 29 Oct..
