UWM LSC group: Brady's 6 month research report Feb 15, 1999 - Jun 15, 1999 ??: PRESENTATION AT CENTENNIAL APS MEETING Brady worked with Phil Lindquist, Fred Raab and Rai Weiss to produce a set of posters to present at a booth for the Topical Group on Gravitation at the Centennial meeting of the APS in March. The presentation included: i) a set of three posters about general relativity, gravitational-wave detectors, and astrophysical sources of gravitational waves; and ii) a cartoon style video showing the inspiral and merger of a binary neutron star system with the sound that the gravitational waves would produce. G: ASIS/DCSA Brady, in collaboration with Cutler, wrote the sections of the draft data analysis white papers on continuous wave sources. H: EXCESS POWER STATISTIC Brady has implemented one of the algorithms discussed in the manuscript by Anderson/Brady/Creighton/Flanagan. The code is being documented for inclusion in teh GRASP package. M: DISCRIMINATION AND VETO TECHNIQUES No further progress as of June 1999 N: CONTINUOUS WAVE SOURCES The manuscript gr-qc/9812014 has been accepted modulo some minor revisions. Brady and Creighton have further investigated the detectability of gravitational waves from x-ray binary systems. Some further discussion of the implementation, and hardware requirements has been added.
