Research

I am a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration(LSC) and am mainly involved in the Burst group. This is the group whose main focus is in searching for Gravitational waves from "burst" sources like Binary Black Hole(BBH) mergers, supernovae collapses, Gamma Ray Bursts(GRB). However lately I am also getting involved in the Inspiral subgroup. This is a result of my current interest in looking for merger signals only if preceded by an inspiral phase. I am focussing in searching for merger phase of a BBH coalescence. The data used for this analysis is collected by the LIGO instruments at Hanford and Livingstone(USA). There are also plans to fold in the GEO experiment in this search.
