  1. Update on S4 LIGO all-sky search
    • New draft: addresses comments by JC, NR, KR, SK, PS (partly). Has energy equiv. of sensitivity; still some TODOs. Quick glance at energetics: change from one polarization to equal energy in both polarizations (factor of 2). JC will re-read Keith's notes and check this section.
    • CorrPower review: progress made. Issues identified so far have been resolved (one issue was due to implementation-dependent behaviour of awk but fortunately the implementation that was used did the "right" thing).
    • Jolien will continue checking numbers.
    • Review committee will read new draft an provide comments.
  2. Update on S4 LIGO-GEO all-sky search
    • Progress being made but no draft yet. Will be discussed at meeting tomorrow.
  3. Update on S2-S3-S4 GRB-triggered search
    • New draft of paper: addresses comments by JC, NR, (but not yet PS, RO ?), includes a table of GRBs, 1% conf. belts on binomial plots (some discussion of what these mean), errors for ULs, full discussion and summary sections.
    • Isabel will write up enote on error analysis.
    • Review committee will read new draft and provide comments.
  4. Update on SGR search
    • Correction in QPO time interval for one of the QPOs.
    • How to fit bg distribution?
      • Now fit omits outliers greater than 3 sigma -- seems to provide better fits.
      • Question is whether ther could be problems if the BG distribution actually has non-Gaussian tails?
      • Options seem to be: (i) try to devise some way of doing a FC procedure with the actual, measured distribution or (ii) figure out how to incorporate uncertainties in fitted parameters in the FC procedure. Recall that (ii) was done before in the S1 burst paper.
      • Probably what is most important is that the curve fit well between the 10th and 90th percentiles.
      • JC is a little alarmed at how much the UL changes the ULs by 30%ish in worst case.
    • For this astrowatch period: ~15%-20% calibration uncertainty.
    • In the 16 intervals there are 2 that have a non-zero lower bound. This is to be expected. But need to deal with lower bound carefully. Statements such as "by construction of these intervals, random noise will produce intervals bounded away from zero with some frequency" (is this 10%?) and "here, we are only interested in the upper bound of the interval as our intent is to set only upper limits (a detection would need to have substantially higher confidence as well as additional corroborating evidence)" would be useful.
