  2. Update on status of S5 1st Year Burst Search Paper (Chatterji) [ HTML ]
    • Not yet mature enough to be worth consideration by the burst review committee.
    • An updated and mature veto section is now in place. Only needs a couple of figures. Also hope to flesh out the DQ section this week.
    • Some redundancy between detector descriptsions and existing DQ sections. Needs some editing.
    • BN/Astroburst section recently updated.
    • Currently orking on the Q section and just starting to flesh out the MDC section.
    • Cadonati hopes to get final H1H2 and H1H2L1 + H1H2 results out by the Wednesday burst call.
    • Many sections still empty: simulations, results, data selection, others. By Wednesday could have MDCs and DQ, not sure about results.
    • Sutton: What do you need to complete the draft? Chatterji: Mostly more time (self and others). Also need calibration uncertainty MDC studies, missed/found injection studies, loudest event comparisons. Not clear how much of that material is needed in the paper. Also need H1H2 results. Finally, BN may still be missing some MDCs sets -- need to check. Plan has always been to add in additional BN results if they are produced in tume.
    • Other items relevant to the analysis:
      • Stuver looking at found/missed injections.
      • Chatterji has been studying run-avergaed noise spectra in support of review activities (cWB, etc.). Made plots of hrss50 and 90 values post-DQ estimated from run-avergaed spectra.
      • Review of h(t): Hughey studying burst hardware injections, found discrepancy in hrss recovered by Sung's optimal filter analysis for 393Hz SG injections. Many failing null-stream veto tests at high amplitude. Failures seen for SNR ~ 200 injections in H2, L1, but not seen in H1. Hypothesis: these injections are loud enough and close enough to a calibration line that they are influencing h(t) generation. Sung to investigate alpha(t) to see if that hypothesis holds up.
