Minutes

  1. Announcements
  2. Status of S5y1 all-sky search papers
    • Low-frequency search [ PDF ]
      • Patrick made many notes about paper.
      • DQ paper: not likely to materialize. Prefer it in an appendix rather than as a tech note or separate paper. Jolien would support any of these.
      • UL calc to be reduced and described in detail separately.
      • cWB section was to be condensed and rewritten in LIGO-GEO paper notation.
    • High-frequency search
      • Calibration of HF search update. Final V4 numbers within a month from a week and a half ago.
      • Draft will be circulated once more with final calibration. Unlikely to get approved for February executive meeting. Likely the uncertainties will be smaller than what is being used and paper should be modified to be smaller.
      • Could send to the collaboration with a comment that the only thing to change is the systematics.
      • Bring the issue of the calibration to the DAC.
      • Circulate to LSC next week after a final read-over.
  3. Status of S5y2/VSR1 all-sky search paper
    • Focusing on abstract and results section. What they say about the equinox event. Sergey is lining up people to make contributions. Big questions to be decided.
    • Upper limit? Only on S5y2/VSR1 limit? Joint y1/y2 UL or just y2? Patrick's tech report/paper will cover all such cases.
  4. A.O.B.
