Minutes

  1. Announcements
  2. Schedule for completing review of current papers
    • S5y1 High-Frequency Burst Search:
      • Calibration
      • SN Simulations: authors or acknowledgements?
Concensus: acknowledge. Also, incorrect author list: it was Spring 2008; should have been Fall 2008. Also add one author.
      • Pass by burst reviewers once complete
      • Otherwise approved
    • S5y1 Low-Frequency Burst Search:
      • Final presentation has been made.
      • Review team reports received.
      • Final draft: Lets do one final cycle of comments and then send out for LSC comment later this week. Set deadline of April 10 for collaboration comments.
      • Executive committee meeting on the 23rd.
      • Only substantive issue is normalization of SNR.
    • S4 Cosmic String Search:
      • Final presentation has been made.
      • Review team reports received.
      • Address the one exclusion figure.
      • No mention of aux channel vetoes--only Cat 1 and Cat 2 dQ cuts. Could check this.
      • Request LSC comments by April 3.
    • SGR Stack-a-Flare:
      • Final presentation has been made.
      • Review team should give a brief update report. Say, next week, Monday 30.
      • Comments to be sent out in next day or so; new version by end of week to give to reviewers.
      • Send to LSC for final comment on April 1, ask for comments by April 15.
    • S5y2/VSR1 All-Sky
      • Month(s) before review teams can be done.
      • Was that the final presentation to the LSC? There was not a paper draft on hand.
      • Shall we put a lot of pressure on the reviewers? EGC -- would be easier for Raffaele to excert pressure.
      • Hopefully this will be completed by the June LSC meeting.
    • GRB
      • Final presentation to the LSC.
      • Still requires a two-week comment period, but this should wait until after review is completed.
      • Review expected to be completed in early May; circulate draft for comments at that time.
      • May Exec meeting is on the 21st, so want to have draft circulated on May 1, comments by May 15.
  3. A.O.B.
    • Vela pulsar glitch, James Clark. Needs to show that the analysis is more sensitive than all-sky analysis.
