Minutes

  1. Announcements
  2. Discussion of calibration uncertainties for high- and low-frequency S5y1 papers
    • Brennan's page [ HTML ]
    • Use V4 calibration uncertainties and look at changes from V3 to V4.
    • Around 8% combined random magnitude error (snr-weighted); around 3% one-sided systematic magnitude error from V3 to V4.
    • Around 10 degree phase error -- already accounted for.
    • Don't need to worry about time offset factor between LIGO and Virgo.
    • LWL approximation for HF analysis: take to be 1%.
    • Take a total quadrature sum, multiply by 1.28 to get 90% CL adjustment.
    • Laura's code already takes into account Monte Carlo uncertainties and the fitting uncertainties.
    • Double check with Laura about how to supply systematic uncertainties to her code -- the 1-sigma or the 90% uncertainty.
    • Discussion of how to write up the uncertainties.
  3. A.O.B.
    • Action on Low-Frequency S5y1 paper. Made corrections to cWB section. Also talked through the Q-Pipeline section changes. Definition of Q changed to standard definition. Checked by Brennan.
    • Lingering question about H+ definition. Overwhitened or not?
    • Patrick will check Laura's script for UL calculation.
