Agenda and Contact Info

Agenda

  1. Updates on outstanding action items from last telecon:
    1. Heng: produce Q-scans of 2 outliers with Zg>8
    2. Yakushin: forward link to missing file S4H1H2L1v07_segmentlist.txt, also link to CVS copy (if there is one).
    3. Sutton: will double-check new segment lists, noise and injection trigger lists for consistency.
    4. Sutton: Will redo checks on missed loudest injections for each pipeline.
    5. Sutton: will email Jolien to request his (numerous) comments on the paper.
    6. Zanolin: will read draft carefully and send comments.
  2. Status of the paper. [ HEAD version ]
    1. Response to Jolien's comments.
    2. Title.
    3. Loud injections missed by cWB.
    4. Description of cWB.

Walk-through of agenda items

  1. Updates on outstanding action items from last telecon:
    1. Heng: produce Q-scans of 2 outliers with Zg>8
PENDING: Send Shourov correct times (accounting for time lags); awaiting response.
    2. Yakushin: forward link to missing file S4H1H2L1v07_segmentlist.txt, also link to CVS copy (if there is one).
      DONE
    3. Sutton: will double-check new segment lists, noise and injection trigger lists for consistency.
IN PROGRESS - verified iWB segment lists and trigger lists.
    4. Sutton: Will redo checks on missed loudest injections for each pipeline.
      PENDING.
    5. Sutton: will email Jolien to request his (numerous) comments on the paper.
      DONE
    6. Zanolin: will read draft carefully and send comments.
      DONE
  2. Status of the paper. [ HEAD version ]
    1. Heng: All plots and figures are now final.
    2. Title.
Consensus decision to change title to first of Siong's suggested titles, "First search for burst gravitational waves with data from LIGO and GEO 600"
    3. Response to Jolien's comments.
    4. Loud injections missed by cWB.
Discussion of how to comment on missed loud injections and asymptotic efficiency results for the two pipelines. For cWB, not clear if missed loud injections are lost due to bad network correlation coefficient or single-detector likelihood test. Current text does not say which.
Action item: Sergei will investigate which effect dominates, or if both are important.
For iWB-CP, current text says loss of efficiency is due to vetos. Keith suggests not stressing this point, and staing clearly that the efficiency curves include vetoes.
    5. Description of cWB.
Much discussion about selection of time-frequency pixels, names given to likelihood statistics.
Action item: Sergei to update text along lines suggested in recent email exchanges.
  3. A.O.B.
    1. None. (Meeting time expired.)
