Agenda: Monday 05 Jan 2009 09:00 Pacific / 12:00 Eastern

  1. Recap of results from Maryland meeting [pdf].
  2. Review summit plans: Jan 12-16 at UWM.
  3. Code review: Reviewing likelihood types 'crossinc', 'nullinc', 'plusinc' in lines 706--1192 of xtimefrequencymap.

Minutes:

Attendance: Peter Raffai, Jolien Creighton, Patrick Sutton, Gareth Jones.

  1. Recap of results from Maryland meeting [pdf].
    • 16 H1-H2 GRBs opened, one candidate: GRB061201.
      • Use statandard burst group checklist to follow-up.
      • Paper is being drafted [ PDF ]
  2. Review summit plans: Jan 12-16 at UWM.
    • Summit: Gareth and Patrick in MKE from M to F (leave F evening). Need conference facility/phone.
    • Xavi to recommend hotels.
  3. Code review: Reviewing likelihood types 'crossinc', 'nullinc', 'plusinc' in lines 706--1192 of xtimefrequencymap.
    • reviewed crossinc (826), plusinc (1121), nullinc (1080). (Line 1086 comment should read total-plusinc; 1103 should read total-plusinc-crossinc)
    • remaining likelihoods unreviewed - god knows how many of them work!
    • Next step: process likelihood maps (1199-1409).
    • Recognized types:
      • followup (1201) - all-sky scan of data and report loudest single event found
      • sparsecluseters (1245) - report all time but only one per second
      • allclusters (1303) - report all time (not a good idea for all sky searches)
      • timefrequencymap (1354) - not for review
      • remaining cases ('2', '3', '4' are development stuff) - not for review
will review 'allclusters'. Nearest-neighbour connectivity clustering.
