Agenda and Minutes, 31 October 2006

Agenda: Tues, 31 October 2006

Our primary goal is to assess which studies are still outstanding for the
reviews and whether the combined results of those that are outstanding could
lead to a 10% or greater change in the current quoted values. If they could,
then we need to understand whether the requested studies are likely to be
done before the Texas Symposium (Dec. 11-15) in the case of the radiometer
and before GWDAW (December 18-21).

Those of us who have not finished reviewing the L1-A1 technical companion
document (and, if possible, but not necessarily, the Allegro calibration
document) should do so before the meeting so that we can suggest whatever
further investigations that might arise from it ASAP.

I'll try to have the summary of where I think we are posted on the webpage by
tomorrow - if not, I will circulate that information via email.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Attendees: Warren, John, Stuart, Nelson, Robert, Stefan, Martin

1) Radiometer status:
One outstanding low priority issue - stationarity of timing transient
waveform. Stefan points out that it's not first half of S4 vs. last half of
S4 where this should be a concern, but rather just after lock to later in
locked section. However, how does on best address this, given the relative
paucity of data from just after lock? Review committee not too concerned.
Also, committee thinks that using Vuk's post-processing cuts gives same kind
of info that changing post-processing cut threshold would, and therefore
forgoes that criterion.

2) Allegro status review: Outstanding issues are back-of-the-envelope
calculation, which Warren still has to check, and Harry's check of Allegro
calibration numbers. One low priority item are checking KS statistics of
Gaussian deviates, but normplots have been done and look excellent. Warren and
Harry's checks should be easily done before a presentation.

General caveats for both:
1) Committee needs to review talks
2) Harry needs to give a thumbs up

Hi All,

The outstanding actions from todays meeting are:

1) Warren to check Allegro Back-of-Envelope.
2) Harry to check Allegro calibration uncertainty numbers.
3) Harry to provide overall feedback.
4) John to post talk.
5) Stefan to post talk.

Subject: Approval for preliminary results. From: Warren G Anderson To: Stochastic List Date: Tuesday 16:42:41 Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know that the stochastic review committee will be recommending at the LSC meeting this weekend that the radiometer and allegro teams be allowed to present preliminary results at conferences in Dec. Both teams (a team of one for the radiometer) did great jobs of satisfying the review committee with extra investigations and clear discussions of the issues. I congratulate them.
